Charlottesville Commonwealth's Attorney Platania to Appear at Marijuana Policy Town Hall at CitySpace

Virginia NORML and its Charlottesville chapter will host a Marijuana Policy Town Hall this Wednesday, April 24, at 6pm in CitySpace on the downtown mall.

Our featured guest is Joe Platania, City of Charlottesville Commonwealth’s Attorney. Recently, Virginia prosecutors have been in the news for pushing back against simple possession laws.

This community conversation with elected officials will focus on existing state and local marijuana policies and their impact on Virginians, as well as the prospect of future legislation.

“Virginia will only continue to grow greener and greener,” said Virginia NORML executive director Jenn Michelle Pedini. “The more Virginians demand reform from their legislators, the faster marijuana prohibition will end in Virginia.”

Please RSVP to attend by clicking here. This event is free and open to the public, but RSVP is required.

CitySpace is located at 100 5th St. NE in downtown Charlottesville. Here is the event on Facebook. This event is being held in conjunction with the Students for Sensible Drug Policy chapter at the University of Virginia

Light refreshments will be served. We look forward to seeing you!

Virginia NORML provides a voice in the public policy debate for the overwhelming majority of Virginians who oppose the failed policy of marijuana prohibition in favor of decriminalizing possession, and regulating in-state medical and adult-use production and sales for a safer Commonwealth.
